Back in the 1980's I became involved in Computer Graphics, Video Filming and Video Editing. What was originally a hobby has grown over the last 30 years or so and now takes up nearly all of my time.
Little did I think back when I started exploring the world of video production as a 14 year old schoolboy that 30 years or so down the line I would Managing Director of my own company, but here we are in 2016 and all is going extremely well!
Over the years I've been lucky enough to have had the opportunity to have worked with the BBC and to make films in more than one continent, having travelled as far as Australia back in 2004.
At GBC Television we have always been insistent on one thing... and that is that every effort is made to ensure that each film has been made to the best standard. We strive to meet and exceed the expectations of those hiring our services.
In 30 years there have been considerable improvements in technology, and today the latest digital techniques are used to make sure that our productions will give you hours of enjoyment in the years to come.
We record our films with modern HD cameras, our footage is recorded digitally to maximise quality and minimise editing times and then back at office we use state-of-the-art editing software to allow us produce amazing high definition films.
Finished films are now supplied as standard in full HD on blu-ray disks and in standard definition on DVDs. Online versions of films are brought to you using the latest HTML5 internet video techniques.
Filming so many different types of event has given us an amazing opportunity - and that is to capture milestones in peoples' lives.
In years to come the legacy that GBCTelevision will leave behind will be the hundreds of films that have sealed inside them moments of pure enjoyment. Memories that will live on beyond the current generation, memories that will be treasured by generations to come.
“Long after the flowers have dried and the musicians have gone home our Ultimate Wedding Film will be ours to treasure forever” – a snapshot of a moment in time. A memory of people. A memory of great times.
How often do you get a chance to do that in a job?!
Filming events, lovingly crafting them into finished films. Creating the memories. What an utter privilege!
